People Who Thrive is a community of New Yorkers who come together once a month to hear speaker talk for 10 minutes about a time in their life or their career when they asked for help, and receiving that help had a transformative impact. Then, everyone has one minute to address the group and share their elevator pitch, their ask (something they need help with) and an offer (a way they can be of service to others). You never know you knows someone you knows someone who can help you in a major way, and this is a forum to put those asks out there.
Liz Winston is a New York-based community builder. By day, she's a personal chef, and by night, she's an organizer in the disability justice movement, advocating for frameworks of interdependence and community care.
